Greetings Flower Friends🌸
I feel reignited as well as rejuvenated after our meeting which was held on Monday the 24th.
This was our first in-person meeting after being separated from each other for two years.
Needless to say there was lots of excited, happy chit chat from the members.
I myself was a little overwhelmed with emotion having a room full of smiling faces looking at me and I had to keep reminding myself how to run a meeting.
The simple joy of coming together to arrange our flowers for the morning was exhilarating. The morning was elevated with joy as we had members that had come up from Cape Town, to both Jennie and Mignon thank you for adding that extra magical feel to our meeting.
Our theme was pine and incorporating the colour red into the arrangement. It was our honour to have Jennie critic our work. I always learn something from sharing our thoughts and comments with one another as we each bring exciting observations.
I could not have kept the Johannesburg branch going if it had not been for the support and dedication of the sogetsu members - so a very big heartfelt thank you for your help and assistance.
It is a very exciting time for Sogetsu Ikebana as social media has exploded and elevated the image of Ikebana and it has opened up doors to meeting and connecting to people from all over the world.
The time is right to personally invest and to grow in your Ikebana journey. I want us to learn, to grow and to share our passion and love for Sogetsu with our friends and family, this is our opportunity to shine a light on this incredible art form.
